O'Driscoll fears bid for defender
Doncaster Rovers manager Sean O'Driscoll is steeling himself for the prospect of losing defender Matt Mills.
Birmingham City's assistant manager Roy Aitken was at the Keepmoat Stadium on Tuesday to watch the 22-year-old.
O'Driscoll told BBC Radio Sheffield he does not want to lose Mills, but admitted it could happen.
"We are not touting him around and trying to sell him, but there is a hierarchy and we are a feeding pool for the bigger clubs," he said.
Mills joined Rovers from Manchester City for £300,000 in the summer after two successful loan spells at the club last season.
And Aitken's presence at Doncaster's 3-0 FA Cup third round win over Cheltenham has left O'Driscoll wondering whether he will have to deal with a bid for the central defender before the January transfer window shuts.
"If I was going to put anything on the table for a player then I would like to see the player myself, so maybe that is a step forward in that," said O'Driscoll.
"Until anyone picks up the phone and actually tells you something then speculation is speculation."
