Rovers to send Ameobi out on loan
Doncaster Rovers manager Sean O'Driscoll has told striker Tomi Ameobi he will be allowed to go out on loan in January in a bid to get regular games.
Ameobi, 20, made his Rovers debut in the 1-0 defeat by Wolves but O'Driscoll told BBC Radio Sheffield the player needs regular first-team football.
"He needs to be playing regularly and that's not got to be at a league club.
"He needs to go out and try and make all the decisions that he needs to do as a professional footballer."
Ameobi has only started two football league games in his career so far during a loan spell with Grimsby in September.
O'Driscoll is confident that another period away from the Keepmoat Stadium will help the striker's game develop.
"His immediate future is for him to go out on loan in January and get the games that he needs."
