Newly-appointed Derby County manager Nigel Clough has vowed to be his own man at the Rams, despite his father's legacy there.
At his first press conference at Pride Park Clough said: "I do wish he was here to give a bit of advice though.
"But we're going to try and do things our way. There's no point in coming in and doing it someone else's way - whoever that may be."
Clough's father Brian steered Derby to the old Division One title in 1972.
The 42-year-old, who left Burton Albion after 10 years at the helm, also announced he would be bringing in three of his backroom staff from the Pirelli Stadium.
"It's essential to get people you trust and I know they can do a good job," he said.
Clough said he would be trimming one or two players from the Rams' squad, which he said had become large in number over the last few months.
The father-of-two confessed he had consulted his mother Barbara before taking up the position and said family would remain his first priority.
"I managed to take the kids to school this morning - it might be a bit more difficult with the phone ringing... but my wife and two children are the most important people in the world," he added.
Clough, who left the Brewers 13 points clear at the top of the Blue Square Premier, said getting points on the board was his main task.
"We'll get down to business at training on Thursday - trying to get a point or three at Cardiff (on Saturday) is the main priority," he said.
Clough had earlier said that he was unsure if his father's history at Derby would be an advantage to him.

"I've got used to it over the last 25 years but being at a club where he was so successful - I'm not sure if that will be a help or hindrance."
Former manager Paul Jewell left the Rams after a 1-0 home defeat to Ipswich on 28 December.
Derby, relegated from the Premier League last season, are currently five points above the Championship relegation zone.
