Varney pledges to pay back Crewe
Crewe striker Luke Varney hopes his winner against Millwall at Gresty Road is just the start to repaying the faith shown in him by the club.
The 22-year-old striker told the club's website: "It's great to score here, at home, in front of the fans.
"When the chance came I just went for it and luckily for me it went in.
"I cannot thank the club enough, they gave me a three-year contract when they didn't know that much about me. Hopefully now I can pay them back."
