Hall injured in 'freak' accident

Marcus Hall

Coventry City have suffered another injury after defender Marcus Hall was involved in a training ground accident.

Hall, who has started in seven of the last eight games, took an accidental kick in the face from Leon Best.

The 32-year-old has injured his nose and boss Chris Coleman does not expect Hall to make the trip to Loftus Road.

"It was a freak accident and the lads were taken aback by it," Coleman said.

"There was a lot of blood and I was convinced he'd broken his nose at first but when (physio) Michael McBride took a closer look it seems he's severed his septum (which divides the nostrils).

"I cannot see him being available for Saturday such was the severity but we will wait and see what the verdict is after he has been to hospital.

"It's a real shame for the lad because he has being doing a great job for us in recent weeks - especially with so many other players out injured. We are all keeping our fingers crossed for him that he makes a speedy recovery."

The good news for Coleman is that Danny Fox should be fit to replace Hall having recovered from illness.

But centre-half Elliott Ward is still struggling with a knee injury and forward Robbie Simpson is likely to be ruled out for up to three weeks by a thigh injury.
