Dowie handed Championship award

Iain Dowie Coventry City boss Iain Dowie has been named as the Championship's manager of the month for August.

The Sky Blues top the table after taking seven points from their first three games, winning at Barnsley and Cardiff and drawing with Hull.

They also beat Notts County and Carlisle in the Carling Cup without conceding a goal in either game.

The other contenders for the award were Blackpool manager Simon Grayson and Ipswich boss Jim Magilton.
