U's appoint new chief executive

Colchester United have appointed Steve Bradshaw as their new chief executive.

He will take over the role formerly held by Marie Partner, who left the club last week after 21 years with the League One side.

Bradshaw joined Colchester in 1995 as the project manager of the U's 'Football in the Community' programme.

He told the club's website: "It's a real honour to have been given the opportunity to lead Colchester United at this time."
