Roche quits Spireites for Shrimps
Morecambe have signed Chesterfield goalkeeper Barry Roche on a two-year deal after the Spireites agreed to release him from his contract.
The 26-year-old still had a year to run on his present deal but will join the Shrimps on 1 July.
Roche, who has been a regular since moving to Saltergate from Nottingham Forest in 2005, said: "Chesterfield gave me a chance in the League.
"The goalkeeping coach Steve Sutton was superb and I'll always be grateful."
Roche, who played 140 games for the club during his three-year spell, added: "We had a good season last year and really should have made the play-offs but it wasn't to be.''
Boss Lee Richardson said: "We thank Barry for his time with Chesterfield and we wish him all the best for the future."
