Chelsea have appointed Frank Arnesen as their sporting director to help new first-team manager Carlo Ancelotti.
Arnesen will take on the role in addition to his responsibilities as chief scout and director of youth.
A Chelsea statement said: "He will continue with his roles relating to the reserves and academy.
"But he will also now take on responsibilities relating to the co-ordination of first team activity and supporting the first team manager."
