Hinkel recalled to Germany squad

Celtic defender Andreas Hinkel has been included in the Germany squad for the forthcoming World Cup qualifiers against Liechtenstein and Finland.

The 25-year-old right-back, who joined the Glasgow club in January from Sevilla, won the last of his 17 caps three years ago.

"Andreas is a regular at Celtic and has performed well recently," said Germany coach Joachim Low.

"We are delighted that he is coming back after such a long break."

Hinkel was a regular under former national team coach Rudi Voller while with Bundesliga side Stuttgart.

After joining Celtic he said he hoped the move would help him regain his place in the national team.
