Celtic boss Gordon Strachan said his side fell short in their 3-2 Champions League defeat against Barcelona.
"We're playing against one of the best teams in the world, and when we had the ball, we were not keeping it," he said.
"At any level the team that passes the ball well usually wins, but we were up against the best squad in the world.
"We needed nine or 10 players at their best and that didn't happen. But it was a great experience for the players even though the result was disappointing."
Strachan was realistic about the chances of turning the tie around in the return leg after Barcelona dominated the second half at Celtic Park.
"I wouldn't put my house on it," he said. "It took me 35 years to get it. But we will go over there and give it a go."

He added: "We'll go there, try as we did tonight, try and score goals. We wanted to go and make a game of it but we conceded two silly goals.
"It would be unfair to pick out Gary Caldwell for criticism because I felt he had an excellent game, as did Giorgios Samaras when he came on.
"But we've showed we can score goals, so you never know."
Barcelona assistant coach Johan Neeskens stressed that his side fully merited their victory.
"It was a difficult game for us," he said.
"Celtic have been on a good run recently, but I felt for most of the game we were in control.
"We had a lot of chances and had a particularly strong second half, so I am very happy with a win against a very good team."
