We should have won, says Strachan

Celtic manager Gordon Strachan Celtic manager Gordon Strachan was adamant that his side deserved to win as they went down 3-2 in Inverness.

Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink's double had the champions 2-0 up in the first half before goals from John Rankin, David Proctor and Don Cowie turned the game.

"We had all the possession, all the chances and all the decisions going against us," he told BBC Sport.

"We feel a bit hard done by. They took their chances, but we should have won that game quite easily."

The result leaves Celtic two points clear of Rangers in second place, albeit the Ibrox side have two matches in hand.

"It's well documented we give goals away on the road,"

And Strachan felt that gap should have been increased in the Highland capital against 10-man Caley Thistle.

"It's well documented we give goals away on the road," he added.

"We played some beautiful football, got in the lead and could have been three or four up.

"We then had a penalty against us that I'm not sure is a penalty and then it's a bizarre 10 minutes in the second-half.

"If there's a shop where I can buy something that stops bad defending then I'll go there."
