Cardiff's Whittingham injury blow

Peter Whittingham

Cardiff midfielder Peter Whittingham has been ruled out for three months after being injured against Crystal Palace at the weekend.

Whittingham suffered ruptured ankle ligaments and the damage was confirmed by a scan on Monday night.

The 24-year-old was replaced after 70 minutes by Paul Parry at Ninian Park on Saturday.

He joins fellow midfielder Joe Ledley on the sidelines. Ledley dislocated his finger during Saturday's 2-1 win.
