Bristol City call off Moteab deal
Bristol City have cancelled the signing of Egyptian striker Emad Moteab after he played for his old club while awaiting a work permit for the Robins.
The 25-year-old had agreed a three-year deal, worth £1.5m to move from Al Ahly.
But City were furious that he played a full 90 minutes in Al Ahly's clash with local rivals Zamalek in the African Champions League last weekend.
City chairman Steve Lansdown said: "He was clearly informed he could not play in that game and went against that."
Meanwhile, Bristol City are set to complete the signing of Coventry striker Michael Mifsud.
