McCall targets cup win at Forest

Stuart McCall

Bradford City manager Stuart McCall believes his side can get a positive result against Nottingham Forest in the first round of the Carling Cup.

The Bantams have been drawn away to the Championship side but McCall has insisted they will give it their all.

"It would've been nice to have been at home," he told the club's website.

"But Forest is a great place to play your football and we will go there to get a good result to take on for the rest of the season."

The League Two club have not got past the first round of the competition since 2005, when they recorded a 5-0 win at Rochdale, and have been drawn away from home in each of their last five ties.

"We're trying to put together a good squad here also, so there should be some good players on show and a great tie"

However, McCall will go to the City Ground with the belief that his side can upset the odds.

"It's a tough draw," he added. "There's no getting away from it but we shall go there with positive intent.

"I know their manager, Billy [Davies], and I'm sure he will be working hard to add some good players this summer.

"But we're trying to put together a good squad here also, so there should be some good players on show and a great tie".
