Arnau ends Blackpool trial early
Sunderland midfielder Arnau Riera has brought a premature end to his week-long trial at Blackpool.
The 26-year-old had spent the early part of the week training with the Tangerines after being told he was surplus to requirements on Wearside.
"He told me that he had enjoyed his three days with us but explained he wanted to return to Spain," Simon Grayson told the club's website.
"I would like to thank him for his honesty and his effort."
The former Barcelona player is in the final year of his contract at Sunderland after initially being signed by Niall Quinn at the start of the 2006-2007 season.
He has had previous loan spells with Southend and Falkirk.
