Nelsen suffers hamstring injury
Blackburn captain Ryan Nelsen has been ruled out for up to a month with a hamstring injury he sustained during the 2-0 Uefa Cup defeat at Larissa.
The New Zealand international pulled up shortly after the interval and was replaced by Zurab Khizanishvili.
"It is the hamstring that he had the operation on - we think it is just a bit of scar tissue," manager Mark Hughes told the club website.
"We hope it's not serious but he will be out for about three to four weeks."
The central defender, 29, who was sidelined for five months because of a similar injury, signed a new five-year contract with the Ewood Park club in the summer.
