Blackburn snap up defender Ooijer
Blackburn have completed the signing of Dutch defender Andre Ooijer from PSV Eindhoven for a fee believed to be in the region of £2m.
The 32-year-old Holland international is a regular in the national side and has joined on a two-year deal with the option of a further 12 months.
Rovers boss Hughes said: "We have been looking to add to our central defensive options all this summer.
"He has great experience and has played at the highest level."
Ooijer, who can also play at right-back, said: "When a club like Blackburn comes in for you, it was a simple choice for me.
"I heard a lot from other players that Blackburn was a warm club, it sounded like my former club PSV."
And the defender revealed that former Manchester United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy played a part in his move to Ewood Park.
"I spoke to Ruud and he was very positive and I'm really looking forward to beginning."
