McLeish weighs up Boateng deal
Blues boss Alex McLeish wants to make sure midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng is right for the club before making a move for the player.
Blues have been given permission by Tottenham to sign Boateng, 22, on loan but McLeish is cautious over any deal.
"There's something there to be done but I've not had the chance to speak to Kevin properly.
"When I bring a player to the club I need to know he wants to play for us," McLeish told the Birmingham Mail.
Boateng, whose career at White Hart Lane has ground to a halt, has not been given a squad number for this season by boss Juande Ramos.
"Kevin is not in the Spurs first team but would have the chance to relaunch his career here and be a star," McLeish added.
"I need to get a feel for the boy and that's why nothing's happened yet."
Meanwhile, Nigel Quashie is continuing his fitness work at Blues' Wast Hills training centre ahead of a possible loan move from West Ham.
