Phillips shines in Austrian rout
Veteran striker Kevin Phillips marked his first appearance in a Birmingham shirt with two second-half goals in a 7-0 win over Kirchberg in Austria.
Gary McSheffrey also found the target twice as Alex McLeish's side began their three-match tour in style.
Scottish international Garry O'Connor and defenders Liam Ridgewell and David Murphy also found the target.
McLeish also took the opportunity to have a look at teenagers Jordon Mutch, Jared Wilson and Sone Aluko.
Stuart Parnaby was a second-half casualty, limping off after Blues had already used all three substitutes, suffering from the affects of cramp.
The quality of opposition steps up as the week goes on for Blues, with a game against Viktoria Plzen of the Czech Republic on Thursday, and a final match against Nuremburg on Sunday.
