Barnsley's Ward bid is accepted
Chesterfield have accepted an offer of £400,000 from Barnsley for striker Jamie Ward.
The deal is subject to the striker agreeing personal terms with the Championship side.
The 22-year-old is out of contract in the summer and has scored 16 goals already this season alerting him to a number of Championship sides.
He decided not to accept an improved deal with the Spireites after contract negotiations failed last month.
Barnsley need a striker to replace Iain Hume who is out with a fractured skull.
Ward joined Chesterfield from Torquay United in January 2007.
