Reid agrees new contract with Ayr

Ayr manager Brian Reid

Ayr United manager Brian Reid has agreed a new one-year contract after leading the club to promotion.

The 38-year-old will also take charge in a full-time capacity next season on the club's return to Division One.

Former Morton, Blackpool, Burnley and Dunfermline defender Reid has been in charge at Somerset Park since 2007.

News of his new deal came as striker Bryan Prunty was named Barrs Irn Bru Scottish Football League Division Two Player of the Year.

The 25-year-old former Celtic, Aberdeen, Inverness and Airdrie forward scored 17 goals this season.
