Ayr take freed striker Williams
Ayr United have signed former Stirling Albion, Clyde and Ross County striker Alex Williams.
The 24-year-old was released by Clyde after scoring just once in 12 appearances during his second spell with the First Division club.
He had returned in January from County but failed to become a regular starter.
Williams had been sold by Stirling to Morton for £50,000 in 2002 after a superb scoring record at the start of his career.
Now he will join up with Division Two outfit Ayr's squad this week.
