Barry to remain at Villa - agent
Gareth Barry will not leave Aston Villa before the end of the current transfer window, according to his agent.
The 27-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to Liverpool, but the Anfield club have been unwilling to meet Villa's £18m valuation.
The midfielder has stated his desire to sign for the Reds, but he has now said he is happy to remain at Villa Park.
"After much speculation, Gareth Barry will not leave Aston Villa," agent Alex Black said in a statement.

Barry was disciplined by Martin O'Neill at the start of the season after criticising the Villa boss, but he has since featured in Villa's opening two Premier League games and also scored in his side's 4-1 win away at FH Hafnarfjordur in the Uefa Cup second qualifying round first leg.
That appearance means he is ineligible to play for any other club in Europe during the group stages, either in the Uefa Cup or the Champions League.
O'Neill has repeatedly stated his reluctance to sell the England international and speaking ahead of the second leg return at Villa Park he said he remained confident Barry would stay at the club.
