SFL-bound Annan sign four more

Annan Athletic manager Harry Cairney

Annan Athletic have made four more signings as they prepare for their first season in Division Three.

Strikers Grant Parker and Steve Archibald and defender Gary Brown are all making returns to Galabank.

Parker, 24, has signed from Dalbeattie Star, while 25-year-olds Archibald and Brown have been with English amateurs Harraby Catholics.

Meanwhile, 18-year-old right winger Ryan Adamson will spend a year with Annan before a US football scholarship.

Manager Harry Cairney was pleased with the progress of his team building and pointed out that Archibald and Brown have been playing for a side that did well last season in the Northern Alliance, Premier Division.

Parker impressed with their former East of Scotland League rivals Dalbeattie.

But Cairney, whose side make their senior debut in the Challenge Cup against Clyde on Saturday, was still hopeful of further strengthening.

"We have enough numbers now, but we are still looking at one or two," he said.

"But they have to be better than what we have now."
