Chalmers unhappy with bench role

Aldershot Town midfielder Lewis Chalmers has revealed that he is frustrated at a lack of starts in League Two so far this season.

The 22-year-old has been in the first XI only three times this season, coming off the bench in other league games.

He told BBC Southern Counties Radio: "It's been frustrating and I'm disappointed not to be playing after featuring in so many games last year.

"I've not been training hard enough. It has given me a kick up the backside."

He added: "With the others lads doing so well it has made it difficult for the gaffer to take one out and put another in.

"I was unlucky to be pulled out after the Luton game but I've got no qualms with that.

"I'm sure my time will come again. I'll be involved sooner rather than later."
