Nixon is Airdrie United new boy

Defender David Nixon

Airdrie United manager Kenny Black has signed 20-year-old defender David Nixon as he builds his squad for the First Division campaign.

Nixon came through the Motherwell youth ranks and had a spell on loan at Queen of the South last season.

The new signing came as Airdrie United lost out 3-0 at home to Scottish Premier League Kilmarnock in a pre-season encounter.

Black's side travel to Stenhousemuir for their final friendly on Monday.
