East Fife 0-0 Brechin City

Brechin goalkeeper Craig Nelson was the hero as he made a string of good saves to hold off East Fife.

The Fifers found Nelson in inspired form from as early as the 15th minute when he pushed away Jon Smart's downward header.

Nelson excelled again early in the second half when he managed to tip Bobby Linn's fierce shot over the bar.

Brechin had a penalty shout turned down when substitute Charlie King stumbled in the box after Smart's challenge.

Paul McManus almost won it on 78 minutes for Fife, but Nelson was there again to turn the shot round the post.

East Fife: McCulloch, Nugent, Smart, Fotheringham, Cameron, Linn (Stephen Crawford 86), McDonald, Young, Campbell (Gordon 72), McManus, Templeman (O'Reilly 70).
