Ayr United 1-2 Airdrie United
Airdrie boosted their play-off hopes as they came from behind to beat Ayr in an entertaining game at Somerset Park.
The hosts took the lead after three minutes through skipper Eddie Forrest's bullet header.
But Airdrie hit back five minutes later when Kevin Watt fed David Gillies to equalise for the Diamonds.
Murray Henderson went close for Ayr with a header before Henderson felled Stuart Noble in the box and Marco Andreoni scored the penalty.
Ayr: McGeown, Forrest, Henderson, Campbell, McGowan, Woodburn, Stevenson, Weaver, Easton (McLaren 70), McLeod, Williams. Subs Not Used: Stewart, Robertson, Kinneard, Pettigrew.
