Hamilton Academical 0-0 Dundee

Hamilton and Dundee failed to find the net at New Douglas Park Hamilton Accies and Dundee drew for the fourth time this season and will have to meet again at Dens Park for a place in the Scottish Cup semi-finals.

Accies striker Brian Wake had two good chances in the second half, shooting wide from a great position and hitting the post with a header.

Earlier, Scott Robertson cleared Steven Thomson's header with Dundee goalkeeper Scott Murray all at sea.

Accies 'keeper David McEwan made good saves from Bobby Mann and Simon Lynch.

Accies winger Juanjo almost opened the scoring after four minutes when he volleyed over from just six yards after a Mark Gilhaney cross.

Dundee rallied and Accies 'keeper David McEwan had to brilliantly turn a Bobby Mann header round the post after a wicked Paul Dixon free-kick.

Dens Park striker Simon Lynch then saw a long-range effort fly wide, before Hamilton took control of proceedings.

Gilhaney fired an effort wide on 25 minutes before Scott Tunbridge was also unlucky to see a header drop past the far upright six minutes later.

Dundee defender Scott Robertson was in the right place to head off the line from Steven Thomson's header with goalkeeper Scott Murray all at sea.

The visitors almost grabbed a surprise lead on 41 minutes when Lynch's clever back-heel put Kevin McDonald in the clear seven yards out.

However, McEwan superbly blocked the midfielder's effort with an outstretched leg.

Hamilton started the second half strongly and Wake blasted into the side-netting when clean through seconds after the break.

Gilhaney put another cross on Wake's head after 63 minutes and he was unlucky to see his back-headed effort hit Murray's left-hand post.

Dundee's Robertson miscued terribly five yards from goal after good lead-up work from Lynch and Stuart McCluskey also saw a shot go close.

The game became scrappy in the closing stages and Accies struggled to fashion further chances.

Lynch tested McEwan from 18 yards in the 84th minute, but the Accies keeper got down well to block.

He then did even better to parry away a late searing long-range Dixon free-kick.
