Legg hails Llanelli's finest win

Llanelli player-boss Andy Legg hailed his club's best result after they beat Motherwell 1-0 in Europa League qualifying in Scotland.

But the new reds manager was quick to play down his team's chances of progressing to the next round.

"It's the best result that Llanelli have ever had so to be part of that is fantastic," Legg told BBC Scotland.

"But we're still up against it. We've got a tough time coming in Llanelli, but with a bit of luck you never know."

Legg got off to a memorable start in charge of the Wales Premier League runners-up thanks to Stuart Jones' headed goal before the half-hour mark.

And he was eager to heap praise on his team, who had stuck to their tactics to the letter.

"We frustrated them, we came with a game plan and it worked. The lads can take a lot of credit," said Legg.

"It doesn't always work, but we had some luck, I think our goalkeeper only had one save to make at the end.

"I wouldn't say the tie is over - we can see what a good side Motherwell are - they probably had 95% of the possession.

"But we've all worked as a team, so they can all be proud of themselves.

"Their attitude's spot on, they've shown they have the spirit and the togetherness that we want to instil at the club."
