We are not a spent force - Leah

John Leah

The New Saints midfielder John Leah has pledged to regain the Welsh Premier title lost to Llanelli last term.

"We didn't do ourselves justice last year, finishing second and winning nothing - but we're better than that," Leah told BBC Radio Shropshire.

"We're determined to go out and show people we're not a decreasing force.

"We've got a good new manager [Andy Cale], fantastic facilities, and a great feeling in the side. The future is definitely bright for TNS."

The Saints showed a lot of promise in their narrow UEFA Cup defeat by Suduva from Lithuania, and they take their resolve to win into the new Welsh Premier League campaign.

The opening game is at home to Port Talbot at the Park Hall Stadium in Oswestry on 16 August.
