Benitez impressed by Reds youth

BENITEZ'S VIEW

Rafael Benitez praised his young stars as Liverpool earned a hard-fought win over Middlesbrough in the Carling Cup.

"When you win like this against a good team you must be very happy," he said. "It means you are working hard and the young players are working with you.

"It is good for his confidence, for the team and it will be good for the reserves and the academy players."

The Reds boss added: "They will see they have a chance of playing in the first team if they train properly."
