Three goals in 13 second-half minutes saw Portadown take all three points back to Shamrock Park.
Kevin Braniff put the visitors ahead after 60 minutes with a left-foot strike just inside the area.
Two minutes later Richard Lecky doubled the lead from six yards out after Whites keeper Phillip Matthews had made an excellent double save.
Gary McCutcheon volleyed in on 73 minutes to complete a win which lifts the Ports up to ninth in the table.
The opening half was a dire affair as both teams struggled in the wet conditions.
Both sides failed to trouble the opposite keepers although Neal Gawley and Peter McCann went close for the Whites.
Braniff and Alan Teggart had the best chances for the visitors but neither were clinical when it mattered.
In complete contrast to the opening 45 minutes, the second half opened at a energetic pace with Teggart registering the first shot on target for the game after 49 minutes.
The visitors took the lead on the hour through Braniff's strike into the corner of Matthews' net.
Ryan McCluskey's initial shot was well saved by Matthews who could then only watch as Braniff's left-foot shot took a bounce and flew into the net.
Substitute Lecky doubled the lead for McFall's side two minutes later.
Matthews made a superb double save before the ball fell to Lecky in the six-yard box and the striker poked into the net.
Glenn Ferguson had a glorious chance to get the home side back in the game but his header went just over the bar.
Portadown immediately countered and snatched a third when McCutcheon volleyed past Matthews.
The Whites keeper had pulled off another outstanding save from Wesley Boyle and Lecky saw his effort from the rebound cleared off the line by Jason Mok. The home side failed to clear the ball and McCutcheon smashed into the Distillery net.
