Ards edge Larne in Steel showdown
Ards are through to the Christmas morning final of the Steel & Sons Cup after a 1-0 win over fellow Championship side Larne on Tuesday.
Midfielder Jim McIlhagga netted the vital goal in the 58th minute.
Larne had several opportunities to score but Ards keeper Andy McDonald made some fine saves while Vincent Sweeney clipped a post late on.
Ards were reduced to 10 men for the last 14 minutes after Craig McMillen picked up a second yellow card.
Referee Ian Hall sent the midfielder off for coming back on to the pitch without permission.
