Glentoran 1-0 St Pat's

Daryl Fordyce

Glentoran qualified for the Setanta Cup semi-finals for the first time with a 1-0 win over St Patrick's Athletic and will play Drogheda in the last four.

Daryl Fordyce headed the ball into the bottom corner of the net after Barry Ryan had failed to punch clear a Grant Gardiner corner in the sixth minute.

Shane McCabe was sent-off for a second yellow card offence on 88 and then Elliott Morris saved from Jamie Harris.

Keith Fahy then saw red, again for two bookings, in the dying seconds.

Fordyce gave the Glens the best possible start and David Scullion almost extended his side's lead.

Mark Quigley and Derek O'Brien spurned good opportunities for the visitors in the first half and Ryan saved well from Michael Halliday after the interval.

In between the dismissals of McCabe and Fahy, Morris excelled with a fine save from Harris to ensure qualification for the East Belfast side as group runners-up.
