Ipswich win friendly at Glentoran

Alan Lee of Ipswich in action against Glentoran's Dean Fitzgerald

Glentoran boss Alan McDonald declared himself happy with a good work-out after his side lost 3-1 to Ipswich Town in Paul Leeman's testimonial.

The Glens led through a Daryl Fordyce header on 10 minutes but Town got level seven minutes later through Alan Lee.

Pablo Counago headed Ipswich in front in the second half and Gary Roberts slammed home a late penalty.

The Glens will now focus on preparing for their Uefa Cup second leg in Latvia against SK Liepajas Metalurgs.

The first game ended 1-1 at the Oval and the return takes place on 31 July.

"I am sure Jim Magilton wil agree we gave them a good game," said McDonald.

"I am pleased with how we are shaping up."
