"I am the secretary of the Sydney NISC. We recently started sister clubs in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne and Darwin and are hoping to expand to Brisbane and New Zealand. We had our first simultaneous meeting last Sunday.
I came out here just over a year ago after 30 years in East Belfast and was formerly a member of the Spirit of 82 NISC. We set up a Sydney NISC with the help of Alex McClements an IT professional working for Baz Luhrmann, the film director in Sydney and Andy Berryman a Ballymacash plumber.
We have 25 members and counting and have varied activities. We meet at least monthly to discuss all things GAWA and watch highlights of matches, at the Glenmore Hotel overlooking the Opera House and Harbour Bridge. We have also been white-water rafting had beach bbqs, the usual Aussie stuff...."

The club has been going for 26 years and at its height had 30 members and have seen the highs and lows. In the taxi on our way to Las Palmas for the final match of the Euro campaign, the taxi driver phoned his sister to let her hear our chants on the 60 minute drive! His driving had been dodgy enough to begin with...Joel, Belfast.
