BBC Sport adopts a football team

West Jesmond AFC

We can finally announce the winner of our 'football team wanted' competition.

BBC Sport Academy was looking for a team in need of help and nearly 5,000 of you gave us your tales of leaky defences and redundant shooting boots.

And the team we will follow for the remainder of the season is West Jesmond AFC.

Thank you to all the teams who entered and were not selected. All is not lost, below are details of how you can still get your hands on FA Cup final tickets and chart your team's season on the 606 website.

West Jesmond AFC are based just outside Newcastle and play in Division One of the Tyneside Amateur League.

According to their spokesman Lee Marsh they are a club "born out of other clubs' ineptitude" but they are a team clearly desperate for help.

We'll be sending a team of experts along to help them out and you'll be able to follow their progress as they try to improve on mid-table mediocrity.

In the meantime, if your club hasn't got a website, why not write your match reports and player profiles on 606? Our winning team will be doing this so see if you can do better.

Sign your team up to 606

Also there is an amazing competition to win FA Cup final tickets by sending in videos of your team recreating your favourite FA Cup moment. This is open to teams of all ages.
