Oldham 0-2 Leeds United

Jonathan Howson and Mike Grella grabbed the goals to send Leeds into the second round of the FA Cup with a simple win.

Howson set the League One leaders on their way with a powerful first-half strike which took a slight deflection before flying in from 20 yards.

That came after Oldham's best chance of the match, Joe Colbeck failing to control with the goal at his mercy.

And Leeds controlled matters before Grella wrapped it up in injury time, turning in Aidan White's cross.

Leeds boss Simon Grayson told BBC Radio Leeds:

"I thought we limited Oldham to very few chances and when we had to defend, we defended properly.

"You give yourself a foundation to build off when you have defenders who don't like conceding goals and we have players in the team who can win us games, and that's what's happened tonight."
