Rushden & Diamonds 3-1 Hinckley

Aaron O'Connor hit a superb double as Rushden & Diamonds saw off Blue Square North side Hinckley United.

O'Connor's curling shot put Rushden ahead just after the half-hour mark but Adam Webster headed home Alex Taylor's cross to equalise after the break.

The home side hit back just two minutes later when O'Connor latched on to a long ball before beating two defenders and hitting a left-foot shot.

On-loan Mark Byrne lobbed Chris MacKenzie to seal the victory late on.

Rushden and Diamonds boss Justin Edinburgh told BBC Radio Northampton:

"I think we were a little bit slow out of the blocks.

"Sometimes you've got to credit the other side and I thought they started brightly.

"I knew they worked very hard for one another but once we got a foothold on the game then I think we deserved our win."
