Cardiff 2-1 Tranmere
E-mail your reaction to Football Talk
Cardiff will face Nationwide Conference side Margate at Dover's Crabble Ground after
Lennie Lawrence's side beat Tranmere 2-1 in a replay at Ninian Park.
The visitors went ahead when Mickey Mellon finished off a three-man move on the
stroke of half-time.
But Cardiff equalised on the hour mark when former Middlesbrough striker Andy
Campbell capitalised on some poor defending.
The Welsh side got their winner
eight minutes later through James Collins.
The result was put beyond doubt soon afterwards when Tranmere goalkeeper John Achterberg was sent off for
serious foul play.
Cardiff: Margetson, Weston, Prior, Collins, Barker, Boland,
Kavanagh, Hamilton, Bowen, Fortune-West, Campbell. Subs:
Earnshaw, Croft, Legg, Maxwell, Alexander.
Tranmere: Achterberg, Gray, Allen, Edwards, Nicholson, Roberts,
Mellon, Taylor, Jones, Haworth, Barlow. Subs: Sharps, Howarth,
Hume, Hay, Harrison.
Referee: M Fletcher (Worcestershire).
