Ronaldo set to return from injury

Real Madrid winger Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo looks set to make his return from injury after being included in the Real Madrid squad for their Champions League tie against FC Zurich.

The winger has missed Real's last nine games with an ankle injury that also kept him out of Portugal's World Cup play-off against Bosnia-Hercegovina.

However, the 24-year-old returned to full training last Friday and could now feature against Zurich on Wednesday.

It also means he could face Barcelona in Sunday's La Liga derby.

The £80m signing from Manchester United first sustained the problem to his right ankle in September and aggravated it playing for Portugal on 10 October.

How important is Ronaldo's return?

That ended a fine run of form for the player, who had scored nine goals in helping Real win their opening seven matches of the season.

Real currently top La Liga, a point above Barcelona, while they are second in their Champions League Group C on the same points as leaders AC Milan but only a point above Marseille.
