Blackburn draw Finns in Uefa Cup

Blackburn have been drawn against Finnish side MyPa in the second qualifying round of the Uefa Cup.

Rovers, who beat Lithuanian side FK Vetra in the Intertoto Cup to reach this stage, have a place in the first round proper as their incentive.

Scottish Cup runners-up Dunfermline were paired with Swedish side BK Haken.

Irish League side Drogheda face Swedish opposition in Helsingborgs, where former Celtic, Barcelona and Manchester United favourite Henrik Larsson plays.

MyPa currently lie fourth in the Finnish league and count Motherwell and Dundee United among their scalps in previous European campaigns.

Blackburn were one of 11 teams in the draw, which took place in Switzerland on Friday, who qualified through the Intertoto Cup.

They were joined by 37 teams who came through first-round qualifying and 16 entering the competition at this stage.

Rhyl, Carmarthen, Glentoran and Dungannon all lost on Thursday, but Drogheda beat Libertas 3-0.
