Inter close in on Italian title

Adriano (right) celebrates his goal Inter Milan moved to within one victory of the Italian Serie A title after a 2-2 weekend home draw against Palermo.

The unbeaten league leaders were trailing by two goals at half-time before headed efforts from Julio Cruz and Adriano pulled them level.

Midfielder Luis Figo, who set up both goals, said: "I don't like to celebrate beforehand, but we are close."

Inter travel to second-placed Roma on Wednesday and victory will give them a 19-point lead, with six games to go.

Andrea Caracciolo and Cristian Zaccardo gave Palermo their two-goal cushion.

But the half-time introduction of Cruz and Zlatan Ibrahimovic gave the hosts a greater cutting edge and Roberto Mancini's side squared the game on 74 minutes after two goals in eight minutes.

It means Inter remain unbeaten after 31 games, having won 25 and drawn six.
