Scholes gets one-match suspension

Paul Scholes is sent off against Roma Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes will serve a one-match ban for his sending-off against Roma.

Scholes went into the game with a yellow card against his name and incurred an automatic one-game ban when he was booked after 26 minutes.

He was then dismissed for a second bookable offence eight minutes later.

But Uefa has confirmed that despite the red card on top of the automatic ban, Scholes will only miss the return leg against Roma on Tuesday.

When he returns to Champions League action, he will still be one booking away from a further ban.
