Reggina have punishment reduced

Reggina president Pasquale "Lillo" Foti Italian club Reggina have had the penalty for their role in the country's match-fixing scandal reduced from 15 points to 11.

The decision by the Italian Olympic Committee's court of arbitration lifts Reggina off the bottom of Serie A to 19th with nine points from 15 games.

But Reggina president Pasquale Foti is still unhappy with the punishment.

Foti said: "I am not satisfied. I don't recognise the accusations against me and my club - Reggina are innocent."

Juventus, Lazio and Fiorentina all had their penalties reduced in October but AC Milan saw their punishment upheld.

Foti feels the decision is harsh but says he will not be challenging the court of arbitration's decision in the country's civil courts.

He added on his club's website: "Reggina will definitely keep this within the realm of sport. All I will say is that there are often unjust sentences and this is one of those."
