Mourinho eyes Chelsea improvement

Jose Mourinho Jose Mourinho insists Chelsea still have room for improvement despite an impressive Champions League win against Levski Sofia in Bulgaria.

Didier Drogba's hat-trick helped Chelsea to a crucial 3-1 victory.

But Mourinho said: "We have six points and lead our Champions League group and lead the Premiership, but we still have players with space to improve.

"When we are winning 3-0 we have to keep a better control of the game. Petr Cech had to make four or five saves."

He praised Drogba, who continued his impressive start to the season with his first Chelsea treble.

"I am just a little disappointed because we didn't control the last bit"

Mourinho said: "He's scoring goals and he's on fire at the moment. He is scoring in England and in Europe, but he is playing well and not just scoring goals.

"He is very confident and this is a beautiful moment for him."

Mourinho, despite his demands for improvement, was happy to leave Sofia with maximum points from their first two Champions League games.

He said: "The victory was very important. We knew it was not going to be easy.

"The atmosphere was very warm and they played with a lot of motivation and I knew it was going to be very difficult.

"When we are 2-0 and 3-0 up we have to keep better control of the game. In the last part of the game we did not play very well.

"So I am just a little disappointed because we didn't control the last bit."

Mourinho also cooled Chelsea's delight at topping the group ahead of fierce rivals Barcelona, who could only manage a draw against Werder Bremen in Germany.

He said: "It means the group is very strong. Normally when you have Barcelona and Chelsea in the same group at this moment it should be six points and six points.

"We have six points, but I think we have to get about 10 or 11. We have to go to Barcelona and Bremen, two difficult matches."
