Turin magistrates question Buffon
Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon volunteered himself for questioning by magistrates on Saturday after allegations of betting improprieties.
Italy's first-choice keeper was questioned for more than two hours in Turin and made a statement.
Italian regulations forbid players from betting on matches in any championship.
In a possibly unconnected development, Juve, AC Milan, Fiorentina and Lazio were placed under formal investigation for suspected match-fixing on Friday.
Investigations by public prosecutors do not always lead to criminal charges.
Meanwhile, Parma magistrates are investigating three residents of Parma on suspicion of gambling-related offences.
Juventus can wrap up the Serie A title on Sunday with a point against Reggina, a match in which Buffon will not play because of injury.
