Madrid play down Woodgate fears
Tests have confirmed that Jonathan Woodgate suffered a hamstring strain in Real Madrid's defeat to Arsenal.
The defender limped off after nine minutes, sparking fears that he may have torn his left hamstring.
But Real doctor Alfonso del Corral told the club website the tests revealed "good news" for the 26-year-old.
The club did not give a comeback date for Woodgate, who has suffered a series of thigh problems since joining the Spanish giants in 2004.
The former Newcastle centre-back remains hopeful of winning a place in England's World Cup squad.
Sven-Goran Eriksson names his squad for England's next friendly against Uruguay on 1 March friendly on Saturday.
